Although a chute may appear to be a relatively simple item of fabricated steelwork, its performance can affect conveyor reliability, production capacity, maintenance requirements, dust generation and the service life of surrounding equipment. A transfer chute must guide material from one piece of equipment to another while controlling material direction, velocity, impact and wear.
